ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Police are asking for the public’s help with information on a brazen breaking-and-entering case early Monday morning on Tunnel Road, where two masked gunmen reportedly shattered a glass door to get inside a business and began trying to shoot out the security cameras before they fled.
Asheville Police did not identify the business, located in the 1135 block of Tunnel Road, but they said that when officers arrived at 4:06 a.m. to investigate reports of a glass door being shattered, they found 28 shell casings both inside and outside the business.
“Surveillance footage shows two subjects entering wearing masks, (and) they then began trying to shoot out the cameras,” police said in a release.
Asheville Police spokesman Rick Rice said, “Items were taken but it is not known to us exactly what.”
Investigators were asking people with information about the break-in to contact APD at (828) 252-1110, or send an anonymous tip by using the TIP2APD smart phone app, or by texting TIP2APD to 847411.
