ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A plan is in the works to extend the Wilma Dykeman Greenway along N.C. 251 (Riverside Drive) from near Hill Street to Pearson Bridge Road.
The N.C. Department of Transportation will host a public meeting from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at The Cloud Room, 5 Foundy St., to discuss the project.
The 1.3-mile extension of the greenway will provide an important northern connection in the larger trail network that makes up the River Arts District Transportation Improvement Project (RADTIP), an NCDOT news release said.
Project information will be available for the public to view and discuss with the project team during the informal, drop-in style meeting.
People may also submit comments before Aug. 21 by phone at 984-205-6615, project code 10354, by email at wilma-dykeman-greenway-ext@publicinput.com or by mailing Gabriel Johnson, NCDOT Project Manager, 55 Orange St., Asheville, NC 28801.
