FRANKLIN, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Authorities are searching for a woman last seen the morning of Sept. 9.
The Macon County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on the whereabouts of Debra Ann Broker, who was camping in the area of Wesser Bald Fire Tower. Broker, who was supposed to camp in that area until Sept. 15, has not contacted any loved ones, a news release from the Macon County Sheriff’s Office said.
Broker, 65, could be on the Appalachian Trail in Macon or Swain counties, according to the news release. She has addresses in Gainesville, Florida, and Dillsboro, North Carolina, so she could be in those areas, as well.
Broker stands 5 feet 7 inches tall and has blonde hair. She was last seen wearing a zip-up sherpa jacket, black leggings, socks and sandals and she could be carrying a food bag.
