ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Mysterious “Vote Witch” signs spotted around Asheville have sparked curiosity among residents — but their origin turns out to be less political and more magical.
The signs are the work of local entrepreneur Max, who said they were designed to promote his handmade fragrance company rather than a campaign or movement.
“I started a local fragrance company last year,” Max said in a message to 828newsNOW. “I specialize in high-quality, hand-dipped incense that I call ‘Magic Sticks.’ I plan to add ‘Magic Wax’ and ‘Magic Mist’ soon.”
Max said he posted the “Vote Witch” signs to attract attention to his website, noting that he isn’t active on social media and prefers a word-of-mouth approach.
His products are currently available at several Asheville-area retailers, including Apotheca, House of Black Cat Magic and Elevated Kava.
“I made the company to honor my mother, who is the original witch,” Max said. “I hope you have a magical day.”
