ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Another closure is planned for Patton Avenue downtown.

The main thoroughfare will be closed Wednesday night, Jan. 22, to allow for Carter-Ann-Patton stormwater project to move forward, city officials said.

Because underground utility work is needed along Patton Avenue, an additional night closure is needed from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. to minimize the disruption to area businesses and residents.

The road will be closed from Pearl Street to South Ann Street. Detour signs will be posted at French Broad and Clingman Avenues. Drivers are encouraged to consider using Interstate 240 or explore other available alternate routes to navigate downtown efficiently. As with any construction project this closure will be dependent on weather conditions.
