ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Asheville police ask the public to come forward with any information they may have after a skateboarder was injured in a hit-and-run incident.
A Facebook post from the Asheville Police Department (APD) says officers responded to the 100 block of Clingman Avenue around 11:08 p.m. on July 17 after a pedestrian on a skateboard was struck by a vehicle.
At the scene, officers found the victim unconscious as two bystanders performed medical assistance until EMS arrived.
The victim was taken to Mission Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
APD says they believe the vehicle involved was a black sedan or hatchback with clear tape along the passenger side door with significant damage to the windshield and possibly the driver’s side door.
