ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The Asheville Fire Department has named its first-ever Battalion Chief of Data Performance and Planning.
Battalion Chief Mike Riley was selected for the new role, which department leaders say represents a major step forward in data-driven decision-making.
“This role marks a significant step forward in the department’s commitment to utilizing performance-based metrics and data from multiple sources to ensure data-driven decision-making and compliance with our Standards of Cover and Accreditation,” Chief Mike Cayse said in a statement.
Riley will be responsible for overseeing the use of data and planning to improve efficiency, safety and compliance with the Standards of Cover and Accreditation.
