Ronald Preston Holliday-Davidson, a cherished individual known for his kind, loving, and humorous personality left us peacefully on September 11, 2024, while in the arms of his husband Mitch. Born in Durham NC on November 24, 1949, Ronnie lived life with tremendous passion and service towards others.
Shortly after graduating from Jamesville High School in 1967, Ronnie enlisted in the US Army and proudly served our country in the Vietnam war. He received his final military salute at the Asheville VA Medical Center, Asheville, NC.
Ronnie’s service towards others was demonstrated through his nursing career; and was equally matched with his passion for music and theatre. His love for travel and the culinary arts inspired many adventures throughout his life. Ronnie’s legacy, exemplified by his courage, music, creativity and compassion, will continue to inspire and guide us.
Ronnie was predeceased by his parents Macon Monroe and Eunice (Jimmie) and his daughter Tonja (Williams). He is survived by his husband Mitch Davidson, daughter Lisa (Shephard), brothers Nicky, Rock, Kenneth, Kevin, Toby, and extended family members John Gray, Jacque Baynor, adopted brother Rusty Holliday, Aunt Janie Brown Holliday Yaegar and many cousins including Neal Lauber (Holliday). Ronnie’s daughters gifted him with 2 grandchildren, Ryder Williams and Cooper Shepard, and he leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held at Cherry Log Christian Church, Cherry Log, GA on Saturday October 26th at 1:30 p.m. Information can be found on the church website www.clccdoc.org, a link to the church calendar can be found at the bottom of the homepage.
