Over the past week, road conditions have been deteriorating as snowfall and black ice have overtaken the streets. With a winter storm set to arrive on Friday, Jan. 10, conditions are only expected to worsen and more schools may be forced to delay or cancel classes.
Here are the list of schools who have delayed bus pick up on Thursday, Jan. 9.
Avery County Schools: School delayed by three hours and no busses will be running on icy roads.
Madison County Schools: School delayed by two hours and no busses will be running on icy roads.
Yancey County Schools: School delayed by two hours and no busses will be running on icy roads.
