ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — This Valentine’s Day, get romantic in the kitchen with a couple of cute and easy-to-make treats.

1. Valentine’s Day sugar cookies

Sugar cookies are an always-delicious, infinitely-customizable option for couples looking for something easy and fun. While those with a little more culinary experience could find a sugar cookie dough recipe, the simplest approach is to find sugar cookie dough at your local grocery store. Before baking, use a knife to cut your cookies into a heart shape, grab your favorite red, pink and purple icing and decorate away when they come out of the oven.

2. “Cheesy” charcuterie board

For the cheesy romantics out there, prep an easy Valentine’s Day snack plate with a little creative flourish. Grab a couple of your favorite blocks of cheese from the deli and cut into small slabs. Take a sharp knife and trace your hearts, then cut along the line for cute little cheese bites. Arrange on a wooden board or a pink platter with fruits and nuts and you have the perfect savory Valentine’s Day treat.

3. Heart-shaped pancakes

For this one, a heart-shaped cookie cutter is required, or at the very least, a deft hand when pouring pancake batter. While prepping your pancakes, place the heart-shaped mold in the center of the pan, pouring your batter in after. After one side is cooked enough, remove the cookie cutter and flip the pancake over. Repeat the process for as many hearts as you need. For extra seasonal flair, add in strawberries or red food coloring to your batter before pouring.
