ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The Asheville Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in identifying the culprit of a hit-and-run incident.
Around 5:42 p.m. on Nov. 8, 2024 near the intersection of Haywood Street and Montford Avenue, officers responded to a report of an injured person following a hit-and-run incident.
The victim was rushed to Mission Hospital with serious injuries.
Subsequent investigation revealed through nearby security footage that the victim was riding a skateboard down Haywood Street when they were struck from behind by a burgundy Toyota RAV4.
APD are seeking any information about the vehicle or its driver. They believe a bystander may have recorded the incident on their phone.
