ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A new art supply company will be moving into the space left by Cheap Joe’s Art Stuff in Asheville, the company announced yesterday on social media.

Just last month, Cheap Joe’s Art Stuff announced on social media that all three company stores – Asheville, Boone and Charlotte – would be laying their pencils down for the last time. The art supplier, founded in 1987 by Joe Miller, will close the doors of each location over the next two months.

In the meantime, there will be sporadic sales at each shop as remaining inventory is funneled out of the store warehouse.

Despite the uncertainty of when the exact date of closure will be for the Asheville Cheap Joe’s, the store has already announced a second life for the space.

In a social media post yesterday, April 14, Cheap Joe’s announced that “a local company will be taking over the store space and continue to sell art supplies,” with more details to come.

The Asheville face of the art supplier is located at 829 Riverside Drive at the corner of Broadway Street just off of I-26.
