ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Next week is going to be a wet one in the Asheville area, and flooding is a possibility.

Rain Monday is expected to taper off quickly after daybreak, but there will be plenty of cloud cover with low-level moisture lingering through the morning, the National Weather Service said.

The rain will really kick in Tuesday, and flash flooding could become a problem overnight and into Wednesday. Forecast models indicate several inches could fall before the rain moves out Thursday.

Expect some drying before more unsettled weather returns for the weekend.
