BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Police are looking for a suspect involved in an attempted kidnapping in Black Mountain.
According to the Black Mountain Police Department, officers were dispatched to a Shell gas station located at 202 NC #9 Hwy around 10:05 p.m. on Sept. 17 for a report of an attempted kidnapping.
The victim told police that a man had been hiding in her vehicle and had threatened to harm her if she did not keep driving. The victim was able to pull into the Shell station and get the attention of an employee. Once they were in the parking lot, the suspect jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with long hair, a red jacket and tennis shoes. He was last seen in the area of South Ridgeway Ave. near E. State St.
The Black Mountain Department is currently working with additional state agencies to complete a more detailed composite drawing of the suspect.
