ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Another rainy week has pushed Western North Carolina out of drought, according to the latest drought monitor report.
According to the National Weather Service, more than 39 inches of rain has fallen in the Asheville area since Jan. 1. That’s 8.39 inches above normal for the year.
Rain chances will continue next week, as high pressure is expected to build throughout the week.
The forecast, according to the National Weather Service:
- Monday: Mostly sunny with a high near 84.
- Monday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 65 and a 20 percent chance of rain.
- Tuesday: Partly sunny with a high near 84 and a 30 percent chance of showers.
- Tuesday night: Mostly cloudy with a low around 64 and a 20 percent chance of rain.
- Wednesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 84.
- Wednesday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 64.
- Thursday: Mostly sunny with a high near 81 and a 40 percent chance of rain.
- Thursday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 64 and a 30 percent chance of showers.
- Friday: Mostly sunny with a high near 83 and a 50 percent chance of rain.
- Friday night: Mostly cloudy with a low around 66 and a 40 percent chance of rain.
