Asheville HoneyFest, hosted with the Center for Honeybee Research, includes honey tastings, food trucks, vendors, live music and educational programming focused on honeybees and pollinators. The event also includes the live finals of the International Black Jar Honey Competition and a People’s Choice Honey Award.

The Mermaid Parade & Festival is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in downtown Marshall. Saturday events include the Marshall Magic Mermaid Market and parade. Sunday’s schedule includes an ecology field day on Blannahassett Island.

Flying Squirrel Ten Miler

The Flying Squirrel Ten Miler is scheduled for Saturday morning in Asheville. The 10-mile road race starts near downtown Asheville and follows a route toward Town Mountain.
