The Haunted Trail – 6-9 p.m., Adventure Center of Asheville, 85 Expo Drive
The Haunted Trail, a family-friendly Halloween attraction, is open for spooky season. Geared toward kids ages 3 to 12 but defined as an event for anyone “past the pumpkin patch and just not ready for Freddy,” The Haunted Trail brings the Halloween spirit to live theater.
Montford Park Players present “She Kills Monsters” – 7:30 p.m., Hazel Robinson Theatre, 92 Gay St.
The Montford Park Players conclude their 53rd season, “A Season of Lunatics, Lovers, & Poets,” with “She Kills Monsters,” a Qui Nguyen play about sisterhood, grief and “Dungeons & Dragons.” Read our review here.
Venardos Circus – 7 p.m., Tanger Outlets, 800 Brevard Road
The Venardos Circus, a Broadway-style, animal-free classic circus showcase, will send their acrobats swinging through the air this weekend at their traditional big top tent at the Tanger Outlets.
Grove Street Fall Festival – Noon to 4 p.m., Grove Street Community Center
The Grove Street Community Center invites older adults out for their Fall Festival, an opportunity for neighbors and new friends to connect over autumnal activities like crafts, apple decorating and more.
Saturday, Oct. 18
The Sublime Theater & Press presents “Fire & Flood” – 7:30 p.m., The BeBe Theatre, 20 Commerce St.
The Sublime Theater & Press, a local theater company, is currently producing the world premiere of “Fire & Flood,” a pair of short plays by Travis Lowe about the Los Angeles wildfires and the flooding following Hurricane Helene. Read our review here.

The 30th annual LEAF Global Arts Festival will be held this weekend in Black Mountain with its signature blend of art, music, camping, lakeside activities and family-friendly fun.
Sunday, Oct. 19
The Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands – 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Harrah’s Cherokee Center
The oldest craft fair in the Southern United States will return to downtown Asheville this weekend for its 78th semiannual show, featuring over 100 artisans and live crafting demonstrations. Crafts from 12 different disciplines – clay, fiber, wood, metal, glass, paper, leather, jewelry, natural materials, mixed media, book arts and printmaking – will all be on sale at the event.
Magical Market – Noon to 6 p.m., House of Black Cat Magic
House of Black Cat Magic will host their monthly Magical Market this Sunday, a free congregation of local magic makers, feline fans and both. Local vendors and black kitty cats will be in attendance.
WNC Parade of Homes – 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
