HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) —
Four Seasons Rotary Club will host an Arbor Day celebration and tree planting at noon on Friday, May 10, at Patton Park, 1730 Asheville Highway, in Hendersonville.
Three red oak trees will be planted near the trail from the park to Oklawaha Greenway at the end of the event, which also includes presentations by Hendersonville Mayor Barbara Volk, North Carolina Forest Service personnel and members of the Hendersonville Tree Board.
Hendersonville has had a Tree City USA distinction for 30 years, and the city council recently passed a tree canopy preservation ordinance. Four Seasons Rotary Club has sponsored Arbor Day events in Hendersonville since 1991.
