Want to learn more about reducing food waste and how to compost?
The Hendersonville Sustainability and Henderson County Environmental programs have partnered for a free Compost Demo Workshop at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, at the City Operations Assembly Room, 305 Williams St., Hendersonville.
Participants will get tips on how to reduce food waste at home, learn the basics of composting, discover different methods available to fit a variety of needs and learn what programs are available to get started.
Not only is composting a great way to help reduce the amount of food waste that ends up in landfills but it also creates a nutrient-rich soil amendment that can be used in gardens and flower beds.
