ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Two more people have been arrested on felony drug charges in Asheville after the Asheville Police Department responded to community complaints this weekend.

Carly Tyler Rea, 40, and Tierra Unique McClain, 32, were arrested by APD officers around 7:13 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29 on Hill Street in downtown Asheville.

Officers noticed that the vehicle, driven by Rea, had no tags displayed. Upon conducting the traffic stop, Rea and McClain were found to be in possession of several hard drugs.

Rea had been wanted on several open warrant charges in addition to the new charges following Sunday’s arrest. Both Rea and McClain were taken into custody without incident.

Rea was charged with:

  • Felony possession Schedule II
  • Possession drug paraphernalia

and cited for:

  • Driving while license revoked
  • Failure to display tag

Rea’s open warrant charges were for:

  • Felony breaking & entering
  • Felony larceny After breaking & entering
  • Felony obtain property false pretense – three counts
  • Felony possession methamphetamine
  • Felony possession Schedule II
  • Possession Schedule III

McClain was charged with:

  • Felony possession Schedule I
  • Felony possession Schedule II

Rea was booked into Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $7,000 bond. McClain was booked into BCDF under a $5,000 bond.
