ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Asheville police are investigating another shooting that sent one person to the hospital.

A spokesperson for the Asheville Police Department (APD) told 828newsNOW shortly after midnight on July 5, officers responded to a report of a gunshot wound victim on Emma Road, underneath the Jeff Bowen Bridge.

SHOOTING ON HAYWOOD ROAD IS ASHEVILLE’S 20TH OF YEAR

When they arrived at the scene, they found one person suffering from a gunshot to the abdomen.

Officers administered emergency medical care until EMS arrived and the victim was taken to Mission Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

APD said there is no current threat to the public and the investigation in ongoing.
