ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Asheville Police Department officers arrested a wanted felon early Saturday on gun and drug charges while conducting proactive patrols in response to community complaints about illegal drug activity, according to a news release from the department.
Officers were in the 100 block of Atkinson Street on Saturday, May 31, when they saw a man carrying an AR pistol. Police identified the man as Brandon Norrelle Miller, 37, and took him into custody without incident, the news release said. Officers said Miller was found in possession of a firearm and illegal drugs during the arrest.
Miller’s charges include:
- (F) Firearm by felon
- (F) Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver Schedule IV
- (F) Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver within 1,000 feet of a school
- (M) Going armed to the terror of the public
- (M) Carrying concealed gun
- (M) Second-degree trespass
Miller was also served with a warrant for fleeing to elude.
Miller was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $25,000 secured bond.
