BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A water main break near the Black Mountain Golf Course has disrupted water service for customers on the north side of town, town officials said Friday.
The break occurred on a main water line serving areas including Montreat Road, Padgettown Road, North Fork Road and surrounding neighborhoods. Water service was shut off so crews could locate and repair the leak, officials said.
Customers may experience a loss of water service or low water pressure while repairs are underway. The outage could last several hours, depending on the size and severity of the leak.
Town officials said there is no estimated time for restoration because crews must first determine the extent of the damage. The outage was not part of any planned work, and crews were dispatched after the leak occurred and will remain on site until repairs are completed.
Residents are asked not to call 911 to report water outages. Questions can be directed to the Black Mountain Water Department at 828-419-9313 or by email at csr@tobm.org.
Additional updates will be posted on the town’s website and on the Town of Black Mountain’s official Facebook page, officials said.
