WEAVERVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The playground and swing set at Lake Louise Park in Weaverville will be shut down for maintenance and repairs next week. Public officials anticipate work lasting for three weeks.
Maintenance will begin on Monday, Aug. 17, at the lakeside park, located about a mile from downtown Weaverville. The walking path around the lake will remain open to the public.
As work begins, town officials emphasized the necessity of keeping a safe distance from the project.
“Park visitors will notice construction fencing and signage going up this week and are encouraged to avoid the playground area until the project is completed,” the town of Weaverville said in a press release. “Please remember that heavy equipment operators may not be able to see or hear you while they are working so it’s very important to stay out of the marked construction site for your safety.”
