Farmers Markets
There’s a plethora of farmers markets around Western North Carolina where you can find a variety of fresh produce, local crafts and other homegrown goods. Appalachian Folk Festival
The Transylvania Heritage Museum is hosting its 3rd Annual Appalachian Folk Festival on Saturday, June 29, at the Allison Deaver House in Pisgah Forest. The event showcases a variety of performers including the Pearls, the J Creek Cloggers featuring Zeb Ross and Appalachian Blues artist Laura Blackley. There will be activities for all ages. Admission is free and visitors are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to enjoy the day-long festivities.
Haywood Pride on Main Parade
Haywood County is making history this weekend with its first pride parade. The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at the Haywood County Courthouse. Community leaders will give speeches at the courthouse at 10 a.m.
Summertime Water Play for Active Adults
Who says kids get to have all the fun? Head over to the Grove Street Community Center in Asheville on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. for some water games designed for adults 50 and older.
