Fitzgerald Lecture – Asheville had a boisterous affair with the flapper age. One of the most iconic duos of the era, Mr. and Mrs. F. Scott Fitzgerald, often visited the Land of the Sky. But their jazzy days were short lived. To learn more about what happened to the roaring twenties and its poster children, attend this lecture detailing their Asheville adventures at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, March 7 at the Thomas Wolfe Memorial State Historical Site.

Seed Swap – Have you ever heard of a seed swap? Honey and the Hive are offering an event for gardeners to drop in and trade seeds. From 3 – 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 8 at Honey and the Hive’s Weaverville storefront, you can “have tea, and chat plants with other green-minded folks,” according to the event’s description.

Hurricane Helene severely impacted the bee populations of Western North Carolina. Honey and the Hive lost more than bees in the storm. Learn their story by clicking here.

The 18th Annual Shamrock 5k, 10k and Fun Run will be held on Saturday, March 8 at Asheville Catholic School, with races running all morning. Run “to benefit the O’Brien and William Edward Giibbs Memorial Scholarship Fund,” state its organizers.

Resurrection Studios Collective – What does it mean for art to be “elevated?” A new player in the Asheville art scene hopes to answer that question in the historic Moog manufacturing building. The new art space will be having a grand opening from 5 – 10 p.m. On Friday, March 7. Kira Bursky, a local artist with a collection of pieces born from her Hurricane Helene testimony, will be opening her pop-up shop that night.
