A woman was arrested after a shooting in West Asheville sent a man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officers responded to a report of a man with a gunshot wound to the head about 12:34 a.m. Thursday, a news release from the Asheville Police Department said. Officers arrived at Laurel Loop and immediately began life-saving measures.
Jessica Barnes Ferland, 40, was charged with attempted first-degree murder. Ferland was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under no bond (ineligible for release) because of the Pretrial Integrity Act.
