ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Asheville police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a man involved in a shooting early Monday morning on Fairview Road.
Officers responded around 7:50 a.m. to a business near the 800 block of Fairview Road after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a woman with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. She was taken to Mission Hospital, where she remains in serious condition.
Police identified the suspect as Kevin Hyatt, 45, of Asheville. He fled the scene before officers arrived and remains at large. Hyatt is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, 300 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. Authorities say he should be considered armed and dangerous and advise the public not to approach him.
