ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A woman was violently attacked on the French Broad River Greenway near Carrier Park last night, Tuesday, Dec. 17.
The Asheville Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery and stabbing around 6:15 p.m.
When officers arrived, they located a woman who had been robbed at knifepoint and then stabbed by her assailant, leaving her with life-threatening injuries. Officers administered emergency aid until the arrival of EMS and the woman’s transportation to Mission Hospital.
APD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and apprehending the robber, described by the woman as a Black male wearing all black.
