
Montreat, N.C. has been near-obliterated by the catastrophic flooding caused by Hurricane Helene.

The River Arts District is not one of the city’s regions that has been handed back by the floodwaters.

Communities across the nation are rallying to direct help to North Carolina in the wake of flooding from Hurricane Helene. When it comes to rescue and relief operations, many of those efforts are coming from above. Two groups in particular doing some of the heavy lifting are National Guard units and Texas-based Operation Airdrop.

The State Bureau of Investigation has sent support to help notify next of kin.
