The city of Asheville is inviting residents, nonprofit leaders, business owners and community stakeholders to participate in a public engagement survey for the development of its first-ever Urban Forest Master Plan.
In a press release yesterday, registered nurses with the National Nurses Organizing Committee-North Carolina, a chapter of National Nurses United, called out North Carolina lawmakers for “playing politics with patients’ health.”

The contest is over for the Weaverville and Woodfin Municipal Election held today, Nov. 4, 2025. 2,702 ballots were cast, making up 22.85% of registered voters in the four eligible precincts.
According to Weaverville Town Clerk Tamara Mercer, election centers have “been busy. It was definitely busier this morning, but steady all day.”
