When it comes to rescue and relief operations, many of those efforts are coming from above. Buncombe County Schools will remain closed from Monday, Sept. 30 through Friday, Oct. 4, following significant damage caused by Hurricane Helene. School officials are coordinating with local emergency services to ensure the safety of students and staff.
NOAA predicts that the French Broad River and the Swannanoa Rivers will continue to recede throughout the week.
