Body of man reported missing in Asheville found in Old Fort, authorities say

OLD FORT, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The body of a man who was reported missing last week was found Monday in Old Fort, McDowell County authorities said.

DeAndre “Desmond” Clark, 22, was reported missing out of Asheville late last week, the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. On Monday, his body was behind an abandoned business on Batcave Road.

An autopsy was being conducted Tuesday to determine the cause of death, authorities said. The investigation is ongoing.
