ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — One of the many events that was impacted by Hurricane Helene in Asheville was the annual screening of the Manhattan Short Film Festival. Months later, the festival has come back to town.
The third and final screening of the Manhattan Short selections in Asheville will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25 on the bottom floor of Pack Memorial Library. The show is free and there will be popcorn, soda and other snacks provided.

Manhattan Short selects 10 short films from all over the world to compete for its prizes, a Gold Medal, a Silver Medal, a Bronze Medal and a Best Actor award. Manhattan Short finalists have been Oscar-nominated and may range from topical political commentary to science-fiction comedy.
Audience members are given ballots that determine the winners of the Manhattan Short awards. Each participant votes for their favorite film and favorite actor.
