ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Two people who failed to show up for court on dozens of child abuse and drug charges have been arrested.

Correy Allen Dolan, 25, and Keira Lane Van Hanken, 25, now have failure to appear added to their list of charges.

On March 1, 2024, officers found two people unconscious inside a vehicle off Tunnel Road. Officers said the pair had been using drugs with a child in the back seat of the vehicle.

About 2:15 a.m., officers attempted to awaken the impaired occupants by knocking on the windows of the vehicle. The driver regained consciousness, placed the vehicle in reverse and struck a patrol car, Asheville police said. The driver then placed the vehicle in drive and almost struck an officer before fleeing toward Tunnel Road. Officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate the vehicle or its occupants.

Officers later charged Van Hanken and Dolan in the case.

In April 2024, officers found and arrested Van Hanken and Dolan. Both were released on bond.

Earlier this month, the pair failed to show in court on more than two dozen charges of child abuse and drugs, many of which stemmed from prior Asheville police arrests.

Officers found Dolan and Van Hanken near the 200 block of Tunnel Road around 1:39 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 26. During the arrest, narcotics were found on Van Hanken, Asheville police said.
