Asheville Fringe Arts Festival – 6 – 9 p.m. from March 16-23, 2025, at various venues.

The Asheville Fringe Arts Festival returns for its 23rd year, featuring over 50 performances of experimental and out-of-the-box art. Despite losing some beloved venues during Hurricane Helene, the festival remains dedicated to showcasing strange and wonderful works outside the mainstream, with venues like the Sly Grog Lounge, Fleetwood’s, The Bebe Theatre, and LEAF Global Arts, plus a partnership with Asheville Community Theatre. Celtic Music and Myths – 7 p.m. on Friday, March 14 at Story Parlor, 227 Haywood Road, Asheville, N.C.

U.S. National Scottish Fiddle Champion Jamie Laval will take his Asheville audience on a musical journey through Scotland, Ireland and Brittany, reimagining Gaelic love songs, peasant dances, and Celtic tales. Recognized as “one of the hottest fiddlers out there” by the Asheville Citizen-Times, Jamie has performed for Queen Elizabeth, appeared on Dave Matthews’ platinum album and delivered a TEDx Talk on the importance of arts in communities. His 2012 album Murmurs and Drones won “Best World Traditional Album” in the Independent Music Awards.

Charity Bowling Night – 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Sky Lanes in Asheville, N.C.

Yabba Dabba Do! Bowl For Kids’ Sake is a benefit for local children. Hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters of W.N.C., this event raises funds to match kids in need with caring mentors, supporting their path to success. It’s Big Brothers Big Sister’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Bowlers are asked to raise $50 for the charity.

Leathercrafting Workshop – 6 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 12 Cougar Court in Waynesville, N.C.

An unforgettable evening is in order as you tour the workshop, learn the history of leather crafting and create your own handcrafted leather cuff and valet tray. During this 2-hour class, the expert leathercrafters will guide you through the techniques and tools used in the craft, ensuring you leave with a unique, personalized leather good. This class is perfect for a fun date night or a parent-child experience.

Quilt Show –  10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Blue Ridge Mall in Hendersonville, N.C.

Each year, quilters from the Western North Carolina Quilters Guild are challenged to create a wall-sized quilt based on a special theme for Worldwide Quilting Day. If you visit the mall exhibit, you will be able to vote for your favorite quilts and purchase tickets for a chance to win the Scholarship Opportunity Quilt, with the drawing at 3 p.m. Proceeds from ticket sales support a scholarship program for college-level textile students.

St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl – 1 – 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Urban Orchard in Asheville, N.C.

A festive St. Patrick’s Day bar crawl through the heart of Asheville is in order. You can experience the city’s vibrant lounges and bars while celebrating the luck of the Irish.
