Asheville's 828 News NOWDee PridgenFirefighters have been battling the rapidly expanding Dix Creek wildfire in Buncombe County since Wednesday afternoon.
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) – Western Buncombe County is seeing the expansion of the Dix Creek Fire. The wildfire is expected to grow further today.
The wildfire near Leicester overtook at minimum 20 additional acres last night. By 10:30 p.m., the fire had reached 70 acres. The N.C. Forest Service wildfire tracker shows the blaze is 0% contained.
