Hendo Earth Fest plants seeds of eco-awareness with annual festival

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Hendersonville will begin to celebrate Earth Day a little early this year with the third annual Hendo Earth Fest.

This year, Hendo Earth Fest will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 19 on Main Street.

The festival is a yearly event organized by the Hendersonville Environmental Sustainability Board, a city committee dedicated to promoting environmentally conscious city policies and educating the community about sustainable practices.

Earth Fest is a major part of accomplishing their goals. According to the city of Hendersonville website, “the purpose of the Hendo Earth Fest is to promote community education for all ages on environmental and sustainable practices, inspire action, and renew and expand commitments to protect our planet.”

The event, which has drawn thousands of participants to the city since its inception in 2023, features dozens of exhibitors, a variety of activities and live music. This year, there will be performances by local singer-songwriter John Perkins and the Hendersonville Ukulele Club.
