ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) —
The Sly Grog Lounge, a local hangout closed since a fire in December 2021, is set to reopen tonight.
Doors at the 271 Haywood St. venue are to open at 5 p.m. and music to start at 6 p.m.
Opening night acts include:
6 p.m. – DJ Oneiric
7 p.m. – Charli Jasper
8 p.m. – Bruschetta DeLorean
9 p.m. – 75 Singlewide
10 p.m. – Half That Matters
11 p.m. – Mycolyco
COMMUNITY SUPPORT PUSHES SLY GROG TOWARD REOPENING
“It’s a music venue and bar that’s a community arts space with retail. In a word: amalgamation,” co-owner Theo Crouse-Mann said, describing the space during a recent community workday.
Donations have included labor, decorations and even a stage.
