BURNSVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The N.C. Department of Transportation will host a public meeting June 11 to discuss plans to replace three bridges in Yancey County damaged by Tropical Storm Helene.
The drop-in style meeting will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Burnsville Town Center, 6 South Main St. NCDOT engineers will be available to answer questions, share project updates and gather feedback. There will be no formal presentation.
The three bridges, located off N.C. 197 South on Toodies Creek Road, Riverview Road and Cattail Creek, are being replaced as part of a single work package. The goal is to restore critical infrastructure and, where possible, incorporate resiliency measures to better withstand storms.
