NEBO, N.C. (828newsNOW) —

A Nebo couple has been arrested after a search of their home earlier this month turned up fentanyl and methamphetamine.

The search warrant was issued after reports of high drug activity around the home of Theresa Lucinda Buchanan and Robert Ray Woody, the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release issued Tuesday.

On May 16, McDowell County Drug Enforcement detectives and SWAT team members from the sheriff’s office and Marion Police Department executed the search warrant and found fentanyl and methamphetamine at the home, the release said.

Theresa Lucinda Buchanan, 55, is being held on a $50,000 secured bond after being charged with numerous drug offenses.

Theresa Lucinda Buchanan, 55, was charged with felonious possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, felonious possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule I controlled substance, felonious maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance and felonious possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. Buchanan was issued a $50,000 secured bond.

Robert Ray Woody, 49, is being held on a $40,000 secured bond after being charged with a gun count and numerous drug offenses.

Robert Ray Woody, 49, was charged with felonious possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and felonious possession of methamphetamine. Woody was issued a $40,000 secured bond.
