Friday, Feb. 6

INK of our KIN: “The Piano Lesson” – 7:30 p.m., Wortham Center for the Performing Arts, 18 Biltmore Ave.

In celebration of Black History Month, Different Strokes! Performing Arts Collective is honoring door-opening Black artists by selecting some of their works to be read onstage as part of their inaugural season of “INK of our KIN.” The first performance will be of August Wilson’s acclaimed play “The Piano Lesson.” Find tickets here.

Watch “Send Help” – Now playing in theaters

“Send Help” stars Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien as workplace rivals stuck on a paradisiacal island turned deadly hunting ground. The Little Crafty at The Arboretum – 1-6 p.m., North Carolina Arboretum, 145 Frederick Law Olmsted Way

The Big Crafty goes little. A smaller version of the Asheville artisan market will be making its way to the North Carolina Arboretum this weekend, gathering a carefully selected group of artists with work representing the natural world. Ice Cream for Breakfast Day – 8 a.m. to noon, The Hop Ice Cream, 640 Merrimon Ave.

The annual Ice Cream for Breakfast Day event returns to The Hop with several local partnerships. Ice Cream for Breakfast Day 2026 will include a Chill Cereal Bar pop-up and flavor launch, a West End Cinnamon Roll ice cream launch, $1 off Jitterbug Milkshakes, Bridge & Tunnel Coffee Truck on-site serving affogatos and Salted Caramel Doughnut ice cream sandwiches made with Hole Doughnuts.

Valentine’s Market – Noon to 4 p.m., Ross Farm Nursery and Greenhouses, 91 Holbrook Road

Ross Farm will host a Valentine’s artisan market with free admission this weekend. The market will feature local vendors, concessions, kid crafts and, best of all, a Highland Cow Kissing Booth. Celebrate the Valentine’s spirit by getting a kiss from a cow.

Sunday, Feb. 8

MPR AVL’s 2026 Puppy Bowl – 1-4 p.m., The River Arts District Brewing Company, 18 Little Big Ln.

This Superbowl Sunday, RAD Brewing Co. will partner with Mountain Pet Rescue Asheville for a Puppy Bowl adoption event. For a $10 donation, families will be able to adopt a dog or cat on the spot, in addition to watching puppies play ball for a touchdown. Also in attendance will be Owendale Art, offering custom pet portraits, and Knot and Paw selling handcraft dog leashes.

Super Bowl Watch Parties – All over town
