ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — One of the greatest cuisines in the world is Cuban. I will not debate this subject. Esta comida es increíble.
Guajiro Cuban Comfort Food truly lives up to its name. This food truck was originally in the River Arts District before Helene, but is now parked at Hi-Wire Brewery in Biltmore Village. The location is ideal for me because my favorite beer in Asheville is Hi-Wire’s Mozaic IPA. I could hang out there every day.

Nothing beats a Cuban sandwich, and I finally got the best one in Asheville! Ham, roast pork and Swiss cheese slathered with mayonnaise, mustard and pickles on a toasted baguette is absolute perfection. Comes with the little potato sticks, which is a nice touch of something different. The yucca fries with garlic citrus sauce were also amazing.
Next was the roast pork tenderloin: a giant serving of some of the best pork I’ve ever eaten … hands down. This was served on a bed of rice, topped with onions, tomatoes and parsley, with a side of deep-fried plantains, as well as Cuban black beans. This was a stunning dish. I could not rate it higher.

We also added their delicious French fries and an order of the tastiest beef empanada with the most delicate and flaky crust I’ve had in years.
This place is king, as far as I’m concerned. Can’t wait to try their breakfast. Get there ASAP! You will not be disappointed.
