FLETCHER, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A Fletcher man has been charged in connection with a 2025 overdose death after an investigation found the victim died from fentanyl and cocaine toxicity, police said.
The Fletcher Police Department said officers responded in March 2025 to a report of an unresponsive person. Responders found a person deceased at the scene.
An autopsy determined the cause of death was fentanyl and cocaine toxicity, according to police.
Authorities said following a lengthy investigation, investigators arrested Justin Callahan, of Fletcher, on July 17, 2026. He was charged with death by distribution through the unlawful sale of certain controlled substances.
Callahan is being held without bond at the Henderson County Detention Center, according to the Fletcher Police Department.
