ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Three people were arrested on drug trafficking charges last week after an investigation by the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office Illegal Gun Reduction and Narcotics Task Force.
On Aug. 14, BCSO Special Response Team and Animal Crimes Unit members executed a search warrant at Dogwood Court Apartments in East Asheville, resulting in the arrests of Kyleigh Aprile Klein-Rude, Don Wesley Honeycutt and Thomas James Cole.
“We appreciate the strategic planning and collaboration that went into this operation,” said BCSO District 1 Captain Dustan Auldredge. “All of the teams involved in this have a specialized skill set that led to the successful outcome of eliminating these dangerous substances from our community.”
During the search, 50.6 grams of fentanyl, 30.1 grams of cocaine, other drug paraphernalia and over $16,000 were seized.
Klein-Rude was charged with:

Cole was charged with:
- Conspire to traffic fentanyl
