Bill Gene Siler of Flat Rock, NC passed away suddenly on June 26, 2024. Born December 30, 1936 to George and Thelma Siler, Bill served in the United States Navy, stationed in Cuba from 1955 to 1959 as an aircraft mechanic. Bill married his beloved Ruth (nee Shillingford) in 1960 and was married for 55 years until her passing.

Bill worked for Andbro, Inc. as a machinist and fabricator, UPS as a mechanic, an auto painter and taught auto class for Gloucester County Vo Tech in NJ. He enjoyed stock car racing, including working on and advising many racers, Street rodding in his 1938 Ford, Motorcycling from ME to FL to MO, then driving his 1968 Camaro Convertible, everywhere else and became a member of the Stray Cats Car Club in Enfield. Later in life, began collecting and restoring antique guns. They resided most of their lives in Pitman, NJ until retiring to Enfield, NC. After Ruth’s passing, he moved to Flat Rock, NC where he lived and enjoyed exploring the scenic mountain roads with family and friends.

Bill is pre-deceased by his parents, brothers Dean, Bob and Mike Siler, wife Ruth, and son-in-law David Gifford. He is survived by daughters Laura Siler of Flat Rock NC, Debra Gifford of Mickleton, NJ, his adored grandchildren, Amanda (Matt) Hasenpat of Wenonah NJ, David M and Justin A Gifford of Mickleton, NJ and Great Grandchildren, Jackson, Remi and Grayson.
