ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Law enforcement agencies across Western North Carolina are gearing up for another ‘National Night Out.’
According to its official website, National Night Out is “an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.” Thousands of communities celebrate across all U.S. states.
Below are some events taking place across Western North Carolina this week:
Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office
The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office is holding their annual National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 5-8 p.m. at Charles Owen Park, located at 875 Warren Wilson Road in Swannanoa.
There will be food trucks, ice cream and games for all to enjoy. Even more, the first 100 visitors will receive a complimentary meal!
Asheville Police Department
The Asheville Police Department will be holding their National Night Out events in several neighborhoods on Tuesday, Aug. 6.
Below is a list of where the events will take place in each community and at what time:
- Shiloh – Community Center – 6-8 p.m.
- Wecan – Aston Park – 6-8 p.m.
- Malvern Hills – Triangle Park – 6 p.m.
- Kenilworth Forest – KW Forest Park – 6:30 p.m.
- Grove Park Sunset – EW Grove Park – 6 p.m.
- Biltmore Park – Green Space at Town Square – 6:30 p.m.
- Downtown – Arras Hotel – 5-7 p.m.
- Walmart – All three Asheville locations – 4-6 p.m.
Henderson County Sheriff’s Office
The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office will hold their National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 5-8 p.m. at Jackson Park, located at 708 Glover Street in Hendersonville.
There will be emergency equipment displays, a dunk tank, fire and rescue displays, K-9 demos, free snow cones and more.
