ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A cold front drifting south could bring a slight chance of rain to Labor Day activities, but the bigger change next week is likely going to be the cooler temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures are expected to fall below normal by mid-week. There will be increasing rain chances later in the week.

- Monday night: Mostly cloudy with a low around 61. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
- Tuesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 76.
- Tuesday night: Mostly cloudy with a low around 56.
- Wednesday: Partly sunny with a high near 76.
- Wednesday night: Mostly cloudy with a low around 58.
- Thursday: A 30 percent chance of showers after 9 a.m. Partly sunny with a high near 73.
- Thursday night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy with a low around 60.
- Friday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny with a high near 73.
