(828newsNow) — A Hendersonville man died in a six-story fall early Sunday after gunfire rang out in a hotel room in Myrtle Beach, S.C., police said in a Facebook post.
According to the post, officers received a report of a disturbance on the sixth floor of Hotel Blue about 1:30 a.m. They said several gunshots had been fired inside the room.
“As the participants of the disturbance were attempting to leave the room, one the males exited through the balcony and was seen attempting to climb down the rear of the building. The male fell to the ground before reaching the fifth floor,” the Facebook post said.
Authorities said the man, who was identified by the Horry County Coroner’s Office as Jorge Orellana, 27, of Hendersonville, was transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
According to the Horry County Coroner’s Office, Orellana died just after 6 a.m. Sunday.
Police said all participants in the disturbance had been identified and a gun recovered, but the incident remains under investigation.
