Asheville, NC (828newsNOW) — Asheville police are asking the public to help locate a man who has been charged with arson in connection with a fire earlier this year on Atkinson Street.

Alexander Christian Davis, 26, has been charged with first-degree arson in connection with the March 31 fire, which caused substantial damage inside an apartment, Asheville Police said in a release. Nobody was inside the apartment at the time of the fire.

A joint investigation by the Asheville police and fire departments later determined that the fire was intentionally set, and Davis was identified as the suspect.

Davis is described as a white male, 5 feet 4 inches, 130 pounds, with brown hair, green eyes and a tattoo of a cross on his right shoulder.

Police said in a release: “If you would like to share information anonymously, you can text TIP2APD to 847411, use the TIP2APD smartphone app, or call 828-252-1110.”
